Official: Kamaru Usman defends title against Colby Covington at UFC 245
It’s official: Bitter rivals Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington will compete for the formers undisputed welterweight title. Confirming earlier reports, ESPN recently revealed that Usman and Covington will meet at UFC 245. The bout had previously been discussed for UFC 244, but negotiations fell through. Now the welterweights will collide at UFC 245, which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, December 14th.

Covington most recently defeated Robbie Lawler in a dominant – his seventh straight victory in his ongoing win streak. He has now defeated the likes of Rafael dos Anjos and Dong Hyun Kim, amongst others. Usman, however, sits on an even better ten fight win streak – the longest in the division. He has yet to taste defeat in the UFC, and was most recently active at UFC 235 where he dominated Tyron Woodley for five rounds.
