Colby Covington details Jorge Masvidal beef: “The guy’s a liar, he’s a thief”
Colby Covington is definitely not holding back in his attacks on Jorge Masvidal. The two had been close friends and training partners at American Top Team for many years. While both still train at ATT, the friendship is clearly over. The consensus is that Covington was the one who started going off on Masvidal, after that the latter set himself up for a main event slot at UFC 244 against Nate Diaz. Previously a title bout between Covington and welterweight champ was sought after as the main event.

Masvidal recently spoke out about Covington’s tirade, sending his former friend a warning. Now it’s Covington’s turn to respond, something he did at length in an interview with BJ Penn Radio.
“You can’t believe anything that comes out of Jorge’s mouth,” Covington said. “The guy’s a liar, he’s a thief, you can’t trust that guy. Literally anything he says is fake news. So the thing with Jorge is, Jorge knows what happens when he stops on the tracks when the Colby train’s coming through. You want a preview? Go type in YouTube ‘Jorge versus Colby’. I beat him up for an hour. It wasn’t hard. To all you nerds and virgins out there, use some of the downtime in your mom’s basement and turn on YouTube because I know you don’t know how to turn on a woman.
“This is personal and this is business now, and no one gets away in my business,” Covington continued, addressing Masvidal directly. “You want to fuck with my money, motherfucker? Come get it. You know what happens. You never won one second in one round against me in the eight years we trained together. What makes you so hard now? You think you’re a little street thug, bitch? We’ll see what’s up soon. I’ll be at ATT, I’m there everyday.”

Masvidal set up the main event slot at UFC 244 by scoring two spectacular knockouts. He at first went into enemy territory in London where he knocked out Englishman Darren Till. He then set a UFC record by finishing previously undefeated Ben Askren in just five seconds with a flying knee. Covington is coming off of seven straight wins. His impressive streak includes victories over former UFC champions Rafael dos Anjos and Robbie Lawler.
