Conor McGregor responds to Ben Askren – Who fires more shots
Yesterday MMAnytt reported on former Bellator and ONE Championship Ben Askren taking aim at Conor McGregor. This was prompted by McGregor calling for a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov, causing Askren to go on a tirade on Twitter. In several different posts, Askren laid into McGregor, and amongst other things posted that the latter “got his ass beat for 18 minutes”.
Now the Irishman has responded.

Askren began his first Twitter post writing: “Let’s be serious @TheNotoriousMMA made too much money to ever have the desire to train at world champ level.” This prompted a short response from McGregor, reminding the reader of one of recent cinemas most celebrated villains.
Why so serious?

This garnered a comeback from Askren, who brought up McGregor’s recent controversies.
Some of us do real work for a living. Not parading around like a drunk asshole punching old people and stomping on phones like a pouty child. Looking forward to an incoherent response https://t.co/SuWEiDVVfB

As of now Askren is booked to face Demian Maia in the main event at UFC Singapore, on October 26th. Askren will be looking to return to the win column since his brutal KO loss to Jorge Masvidal earlier this year. Meanwhile McGregor’s fighting future is uncertain. While he seems to be nearing a comeback at every turn nothing substantial has materialised, and most of the top names in the lightweight division already have fights booked. Former foe Dustin Poirier, however, has opened up for a rematch with McGregor.
