Ben Askren LAYS INTO Conor McGregor: “Got his ass beat for 18 minutes”

✅ In several messages on social media, Ben Askren tears down former two-time UFC champion Conor McGregor for the Irishman's recent comments

It seems that Conor McGregor’s magic has worn off for many. Recently, McGregor called for a rematch with reigning lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov after UFC 242. Nurmagomedov soundly defeated Dustin Poirier via submission, prompting McGregor to ask for a rematch – despite not winning a combat sports match since 2016. UFC welterweight Ben Askren now seems to be tired of the typical McGregor antics.

In recently posted messages on Twitter, Askren began breaking down McGregor – and doesn’t see a bright future for the Irishman.

While most of the MMA community don’t see McGregor as deserving of a rematch with Nurmagomedov, UFC president Dana White said that the Irishman would be offered a title shot should Tony Ferguson decline it. In the meanwhile Poirier, who lost via knockout to McGregor, laid the scene for a potential rematch with the latter – but was shut out.

Askren feels that McGregor would be wise to rematch Poirier instead of Nurmagomedov.

Lastly, when a Twitter user brought up Askren’s shocking knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal, Askren used it to turn the insult around on McGregor.

At the moment, Askren is booked to face BJJ sensation Demian Maia in the main event at UFC Singapore, on October 26th. It will be his return since the brutal, record-setting KO loss to Masvidal, which broke a 19 fight winning streak. As of now Askren is 1-1 in his UFC career.

McGregor on the other hand last fought in MMA in 2016, when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to win the UFC lightweight title. That title was later stripped due to inactivity. McGregor was briefly linked to a match up with Justin Gaethje which ended up being scrapped due to a hand injury.
