UFC 242 results: Khabib Nurmagomedov submits Dustin Poirier!
UFC 242 went down tonight in Abu Dhabi, an event that featured a unification bout between reigning champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim champion Dustin Poirier. In the co-main event lightweight strikers Edson Barboza and Paul Felder met up for a rematch of their “Fight of the Night” collision years prior. Now the full results for UFC 242 are in.
In the main event Nurmagomedov stayed undefeated and unified the titles. Dominant from start to finish, the Dagestani implemented his top notch sambo to control the fight on the ground. In the third round he sunk in a rear naked choke the forced Poirier to tap.
Felder managed to avenge his loss to Barboza by winning a close, somewhat controversial, split decision. Both fighters held the fight even throughout, both getting bloodied up. In the end Felder did enough to sway the majority of the judges.
