Tony Ferguson: UFC told me I’m fighting Khabib-Poirier winner
Out of all the contenders in the talent rich UFC lightweight division, there is none more deserving than Tony Ferguson. He sits on an impressive 12 fight winning streak, the longest in UFC lightweight history. Ferguson holds bloody wins over Rafael dos Anjos, Anthony Pettis and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, amongst others. He was also the former interim lightweight champ after submitting Kevin Lee at UFC 216. Despite that, he still hasn’t received a change to compete for the undisputed title since having his belt stripped. Now that might have changed.

In regards to who wins this weekend, Ferguson has a fighter he’s openly rooting for: Poirier.
“Hopefully Dustin [Poirier] gets a piece of him, throws him on his back, and puts him away, so we can have a good ole’ fucking American battle, battle royale,” Tony Ferguson said. “Like I said, if push comes to shove me and Khabib, we’ll go out there and we’ll handle this shit, in December. So either Dustin or Khabib, title shot next December, Las Vegas, let’s make it happen UFC brass.”
It remains to be seen who leaves Abu Dhabi with the undisputed UFC belt. According to these reports, Ferguson will be next to challenge for the UFC lightweight title. He last fought in June of this year when he defeated “Cowboy” via TKO.
