Ronda Rousey nearly LOSES FINGER in gruesome accident
During her reign as UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was one of the biggest MMA stars the sport had seen. Since losing her title via brutal knockout and also being knocked out in her following bout she has retired, but her star power remains. Since her departure from MMA she has focused more on acting and the WWE, but those ventures have proved to be just as dangerous as MMA – almost costing her a finger.
While shooting a part on the FOX TV series 9-1-1, a boat door fell on Rousey’s finger, nearly severing it. Despite this she continued shooting the scene, was taken to the hospital, and returned to the shoot the day after.

“So the word is out I nearly lost my finger shooting @911onfox“, Rousey wrote on Instagram. “Freak accident, first take of the day a boat door fell on my hand, I thought I just jammed my fingers so I finished the take before looking (I know it sounds crazy, but I’m used to live audiences and never showing pain unless I’m supposed to) after a break in the action I told our director the situation and was rushed via ambulance to the hospital where they promptly reattached my bone and tendon with a plate and screws. I returned to filming the next day and finished my scenes before returning home to recover. Modern medicine amazes me, I already had 50% range of motion back in 3 days.”
Rousey has more or less ruled out a return to MMA. She reigned supreme as undefeated champion but was brutally knocked out by Holly Holm at UFC 193. She made her return to the UFC over a year later, taking on the now reigning champion Amanda Nunes. The fight would end in less than a minute, with Nunes knocking Rousey out in brutal fashion.
However she has had much success in Hollywood, with film roles in huge films like Furious 7 and Entourage. She is now in the WWE, where she won a title but lost it after an almost year long reign.
