Report: Jon Jones charged with battery at strip club
No matter how much distance is attempted from it, Jon Jones seems to find himself in controversy once more.
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been charged with battery. According to KRQE News 13, a local news station in Jones residential town of Albuquerque, Jones has been charged, though not arrested, for one count of battery. The incident supposedly occurred at TD’s Eubank Showclub, a strip club in Albuquerque.
According to reports a cocktail waitress claims Jones “slapped her inappropriately” and “pulled her down to his lap and kissed her neck,” according to the report. The waitress also claims that Jones put her in a choke hold and lifted her upp from the ground.
James Hallinan, a spokesman for Jones, recently released a statement in regards to the situation.
“Today, the media told Mr. Jones about a false accusation launched against him and that paperwork had been sent to an incorrect address,” Hallinan said in a statement sent to KRQE 13 News. “However, after receiving the documents from the press, Mr. Jones immediately went to pay the small fee, and he, and multiple witnesses, stand ready to factually refute the malicious lies being told about him to the public.”
