Michael “Venom” Page returns at Bellator Dublin – against 3-1 opponent!
One of the UK’s hottest prospects for many years has been the fluid and unpredictable striker Michael “Venom” Page (14-1). After suffering the first defeat of his career, via vicious KO to former champ Douglas Lima, Bellator recently announced that the Englishman would return. “MVP” will face SBG product Richard Kiely (3-1) in the co-main event of Bellator Dublin, September 27th.
The young star has fought exclusively in Bellator since 2012, where he built up an impressive nine fight winning streak, including a TKO win over division staple David Rickels. He then entered Bellator’s welterweight tournament, facing arch rival Paul Daley in the quarter finals. The fight was less action-packed than expected though “MVP” came out of the five round fight with a win via decision. He was then brutally knocked out in the semi-finals by above mentioned Lima.
SBG’s Kiely debuted in 2016 and won two straight fights in BAMMA, both finishes. He then challenged the promotional welterweight champion Alex Lohoré for he title, but lost via first round submission. He has since then bounced back into the win column, beating Mickael Butcher via first round TKO in his Bellator debut.
