Forbes list Conor McGregor as one of the world’s highest paid celebrities

✅ The Irishman is one of the top 100 highest paid celebrities - The only MMA fighter to make the list

As it stands Conor McGregor has reason to celebrate despite not having a UFC win yet this year.

The business magazine Forbes recently released their list for the 100 highest paid celebrities of 2019. It may be a surprise to some on account of inactivity, but former two-division champ Conor McGregor made the list at #65 highest paid with a listed earnings of 47 million dollars. This despite the fact that he’s only fought once since 2018 – though it was a record-setting show that still stands as the biggest pay-per-view event in MMA history.

The Irishman was the only MMA fighter to make the list, though boxer Canelo Alvarez was listed as the tenth highest paid celebrity in the world. At 65th place McGregor ranks higher than musical superstars like Jennifer Lopez and The Rolling Stones. This is a dip in ranking as McGregor was listed as the fourth highest paid celebrity with 99 million dollars in 2018. That year he faced world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather in one of the biggest boxing bouts in the past decade, though McGregor lost the fight via TKO in the tenth round.

The last time McGregor fought was against arch rival Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. The fight gained international attention due to the violence that erupted ahead of and after the fight. McGregor lost via fourth round submission i a relatively one-sided fight where the undefeated Dagestani Nurmagomedov retained his lightweight title.
