Glover Teixeira vs Nikita Krylov and more slated for UFC Vancouver
The UFC’s return to Vancouver, Canada will be with what is so far an interesting card. The Canadian Newspaper The Province were first to report the fights. The UFC can now confirm the following bouts: Todd Duffee (9-3) vs Jeff Hughes (9-2), Glover Teixeira (29-7 ) vs Nikita Krylov (24-), Antonio Carlos Junior (10-3) vs Uriah Hall (14-9) Andrew Sanchez (11-4) vs David Branch (22-6) and Marcin Tybura (17-4) vs Augusto Sakai (13-1-1).
After a tough 2018 that saw Teixeira lose a clear cut decision to Corey Anderson at UFC Hamburg, he returned in January this year with a first round submission win over Karl Roberson. In his last outing he faced the hard-nosed Ion Cutelaba – and walked away with a second round submission win.
Ukrainian Krylov returned from a stellar 4-0 run outside the UFC to make his second stint with the promotion last year in Moscow where he faced Jan Blachowicz. Krylov lost via submisison, but managed to avenge a 2014 loss to Ovince Saint Preux in his latest fight, when he submitted “OSP” in the second round.
Owner of fast heavyweight knockout returns
Duffee stormed onto the MMA scene during his record-setting UFC debut back in 2009, when he knocked out Tim Hague in just 7 seconds in what is still the fastest knockout in UFC heavyweight history. After a loss and a dispute with the UFC he left the promotion, only to return in 2012 to win two straight via knockout – only to get brutally KO’d himself versus Frank Mir in 2015. Injury has kept him from competing more frequently during his UFC career. Duffee will now face Jeff Hughes, a DWTNCS veteran who lost his UFC debut against Maurice Greene via split decision.
