SBG Ireland And Bellator Fighter Luka Jelcic Announces His Retirement

Croatian lightweight fighter Luka Jelcic has announced his immediate retirement from MMA.

29-year-old Croatian fighter Luka Jelcic has announced his retirement from MMA.

Jelcic fought out of SBG Ireland under head coach John Kavanagh and last competed under the Bellator MMA banner.

The Croatian broke the news of his retirement last evening via his Facebook page:

“Time to call it a day. I’ve worked hard and done more then I ever imagined I would. The truth isn’t what I want it to be but it is what it is and the only thing I can do is to accept it. The reason I started fighting again was because of you Ivana, none of this would be possible without you and you are the sole reason for everything I’ve achieved, we’ve achieved. You were unbelievable every step of the way. Thank you. My family, friends, coaches, teammates, sponsors and everyone that supported me, thank you.”

Prior to competing in Bellator, Jelcic put together a 10-2 record where he won and defended the Final Fight Championship (FFC) lightweight title.
