Aaron Chalmers’ Opponent Revealed For Bellator Newcastle
Former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers will look to keep his perfect record intact when he takes on Corey Browning at Bellator Newcastle next February.
Bellator are yet to officially announce Browning as Chalmers’ opponent, but sources close to the fight confirmed the news to MMANytt earlier today. Chalmers also confirmed Browning as his opponent in a recent interview with ESPN.
Chalmers (4-0) has racked up four first round wins since making his MMA debut back in May 2017. “The Joker” fought three times under the BAMMA promotional banner defeating Greg Jenkins, Alex Thompson and Karl Donaldson. Chalmers then made his Bellator debut at Bellator 200 where he submitted Ashely Griffiths via a guillotine choke with one minute and 55-seconds on the clock. The Geordie will now fight in Newcaslte for the second time in his career when he takes on Browning on February 9.
Browning (4-2) is coming off the back of a win over Kevin Ferguson Jr. (aka. “Babyslice”) at Bellator 207. The win was Browning’s one and only fight under the Bellator MMA banner having previosuly fought in Valor Fights almost exclusively.
Only one fight has been officially confirmed for Bellator Newcastle with Ryan Scope taking on Patricky “Pitbull” Friere in the main event.
Other bouts reported include Lee Chadwick vs Fabian Edwards and Nathan Greyson vs Cal Ellenor.
