Rachael Ostovich Alleges Husband Punched Her ‘Repeatedly’ During Assault
Rachael Ostovich revealed details about the assault she claims she suffered at the hands of her husband Arnold Berdon while filing a restraining order against him earlier this week.
Berdon was arrested on a charge of second degree attempted murder on Tuesday and he remains in custody while awaiting arraignment in his case.
The assault took place in the early morning hours this past Sunday with Ostovich ending up in the hospital with a broken orbital bone and other injuries. Following her release, Ostovich filed a restraining order against her husband where she detailed the assault in documents released by TMZ.
“After a night out with family, [Arnold Berdon] punched me repeatedly on the head, face, ribs, making me fall to the ground,” Ostovich said in the petition to the court.
“I gasped for breath and escaped thru [sic] balcony. I coughed up blood, threw up several times. Cracked orbital.”
In the documentation, Ostovich also alleged past abuse from her husband including an incident from May where she claims her punched her legs several times, leaving numerous bruises.
A temporary restraining order was issued for the next six months and Berdon is not allowed within 100-feet of Ostovich or their daughter.
Once he goes before a judge, Berdon could request bail but even if he’s released he would not be allowed contact with his wife or daughter due to the restraining order. The second degree attempted murder charge could also change but if he were tried and convicted under those circumstances, Berdon could face life in prison.
Due to the injuries suffered in the assault, Ostovich was also forced out of her upcoming fight against Paige VanZant in January. Through a statement released by her manager, Ostovich has requested privacy in the matter while she deals with the ongoing situation.
