Yair Rodriguez Reflects On Epic UFC Denver Win And Pays Tribute To Korean Zombie
Yair Rodriguez picked up the biggest victory of his young career on Saturday night at UFC Denver and he did so in epic fashion.
Rodriguez took on “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in a five round featherweight headliner and the two went toe-to-toe in a battle that was just one second away from going the distance.
With 15-seconds left on the clock, Jung and Rodriguez embraced and then threw down in an exchange that ended with the Mexican catching Jung with an incredible back elbow that left him unconcious with just a single second left in the fight.
It was an incredible ending to an an incredible fight and it marked the UFC’s 25th anniversary in fitting fashion.
Jung yesterday reacted to the fight on his own social media (See HERE). This morning, Rodriguez did the the same and he paid tribute to Jung and his heroic efforts on Saturday night:
“This is how #MMA is treated.
@koreanzombiemma is a warrior.
I am honored to have had the opportunity to fight against you, this has been the toughest fight I have ever had and the most significant one as well.
@koreanzombiemma you recover soon warrior! .
