Jose Aldo Calls for Rematch Against Conor McGregor Following UFC 229
Jose Aldo has never given up hope on getting a second shot at Conor McGregor.
The former featherweight king fell to McGregor back in 2015 with a stunning 13 second knockout and Aldo has been asking for a second shot at him ever since.
Aldo never got the opportunity because McGregor largely abandoned the featherweight division after capturing the title as he became focused on winning a second world title at lightweight and was embroiled in a feud with Nate Diaz for much of 2016.
Now after McGregor suffered a submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, Aldo is hoping the time is right to finally step back into the Octagon with “The Notorious”.
“You have nowhere to run,” Aldo wrote on Instagram when aiming a post at McGregor. “It’s time!”
While McGregor just fought a few days ago, there’s already been massive speculation regarding his next fight in the UFC.
Obviously, McGregor has already asked for a second shot at Nurmagomedov but it’s unknown if the UFC will grant his wishes considering how dominant the lightweight champion was throughout the majority of that fight last Saturday night.
If McGregor is looking for other options, Aldo seems more than ready to face him for a second time now that he’s available.
