(Video) Fighter DQ’d After Throwing A Double Axe-Handle Smash To An Unconscious Opponent

MMA brings about some pretty crazy scenes, but this fighter getting DQ'd last evening at Battlefield Fight League has to be seen to be believed.

Ever seen a fighter disqualified for throwing a double axe-handle smash to an unconscious opponent after he’s just turned his lights off?

Well now you have…

This incredible sequence of events took place at Battlefield Fight League 57 which took place at the Hard Rock Casino in Vancouver.

The welterweight co-main event featured two Canadians fighting it out for the BFL amateur welterweight title with Austin Batra (4-1) taking on Perry Hayer (5-7).

Batra looked to have won the fight with a lovely left hand that sent Hayer to the mat unconscious and the referee immediately dove in to wave the fight off.

Unfortunately, Batra wasn’t done and craziness ensued as he proceeded to leap over the referee to land a d0uble axe-handle smash to the unconscious Hayer.

Once normality was restored, Batra was disqualified and Batra, who walked into the bout as the champion, was stripped of his title.

To add even more confusion to the matter, Hayer was then awarded the BFL amateur welterweight title.

The promotion are yet to make any official statement on the fight, but they did post a clip of the action with the caption stating:

“Controversy tonight The champ Austin Batra got disqualified and Perry Hayer walked away as the champion….Full details coming soon”

Just when you think you’ve seen everything in MMA.
