Antonina Shevchenko Expected to Make UFC Debut Against Ashlee Evans-Smith at TUF 28 Finale
A new flyweight fight is being booked for the upcoming “Ultimate Fighter” 28 Finale as Antonina Shevchenko will make her official Octagon debut against Ashlee Evans-Smith on Nov. 30 in Las Vegas.
Sources close to the matchup confirmed the news on Thursday following an initial report from ESPN. While the fight has been agreed upon by the fighters, nothing is official until the UFC confirms the announcement after contracts are signed.
Shevchenko — the older sister of flyweight title contender Valentina Shevchenko — earned her way to the UFC after getting a TKO on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series just recently.
The former Muay Thai stylist will now join the roster as the Shevchenko’s become the first sisters to ever compete in the UFC together.
As for Evans-Smith, she picked up a win in her debut at 125 pounds by defeating Bec Rawlings by unanimous decision back in April. The former bantamweight will look to make another impressive showing when she faces Shevchenko in November.
