Nick Diaz Domestic Violence Case Dismissed in Las Vegas Court
Nick Diaz has been cleared of all charges related to an arrest on alleged domestic violence charges back in May.
On Thursday, Las Vegas judge Amy Chelini dismissed the case with prejudice after prosecutors decided not to move forward with the case. The case being dismissed with prejudice means it’s permanent and the case won’t be filed again.
Prosecutors had originally charged Diaz with a misdemeanor for domestic battery and three felony charges for domestic battery with substantial bodily harm and two counts of domestic battery by strangulation.
A Grand Jury chose not to indict Diaz on the charges back in July and his attorney Ross Goodman argued that the case should have been dismissed at that time.
Still, prosecutors decided to move forward until Thursday when they informed the judge that they would not be proceeding with the case.
Diaz was arrested back in May after police were called to the scene of a domestic disturbance. He was booked into Clark County jail and later released on bond.
Now Diaz can move forward after the case was dismissed in court.
