Marroquin analyzes his opponent before championship fight in Combate Americas
Levy Marroquin already knows what it is to taste the flavor of victory, because in 2017 he was crowned champion of the COPA COMBATE, tournament of eight fighters, where the winner had to defeat three opponents in the same night, to get grand prize of $ 100,000.
Marroquín spoke with MMANYTT, of what will be his first fight for the bantamweight title of Combate Américas, against José “Pochito” Alday on September 14 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Also known as “El Negro”, Marroquín made reference to a common opponent he has with Alday, and it is John “Sexy Mexi” Castañeda, whom both won by decision. Levy took that moment as a point of comparison.
“The fight of Castañeda and Alday was very close, when I fought I highlighted more than him, that is something that motivates me and gives me confidence,” Marroquin said. “Castañeda is one of the best fighters in Combate Americas, nobody could stop him, until the Mexicans arrived and we beat him, now we are going to face each other”.
About what José Alday can bring to the game, Marroquín highlighted his striking quality. He acknowledged that “El Pochito” offers a good kicking dynamic.
“Pochito boxes well, kicks the ribs, and is something that I have to take care of, he kicks very hard. We are going stand in the cage, to give the fight that the people want to see, a high-paced fight”.
Also on the undercard of Phoenix event, will see the faces of two of the best prospects of MMA, as are the Tracy Cortez and Karen Cedillo.
