Ross Houston Challenges Stefano Paterno For The Cage Warriors Welterweight Title At CW98
Scottish mixed martial artist Ross Houston will face Stefano Paterno at Cage Warriors 98 for the Cage Warriors welterweight title.
Cage Warriors 98 will take place at the Genting Arena in Birmingham on October 20 and Paterno vs Houston has been confirmed as the main event.
Paterno (12-2-1) is currently riding a seven fight win streak after defeating Mehrdad Janzemini at CW95 for the vacant 170-pounds title. Prior to that win, the Italian had defeated some recognisable names after picking up wins over UFC veterans John Maguire and Cody Mackenzie. The 22-year-old Italian will now fight in the UK for the second time this year when he takes on Houston In Birmingham in nine weeks’ time.
Houston (7-0) is unbeaten as a professional and is a five fight Cage Warriors veteran. “The Hitman” has fought twice already this year and has picked up wins over Aaron Khalid and Nathan Jones at CW91 and CW95 respectively. The Scot turned professional in 2016 and has fast established himself as one of the premier young talents fighting at 170-pounds in Europe. He will now hope to claim his first world title when he faces Paterno on October 20.
No other bouts have yet been announced for Cage Warriors 98 but further announcements are expected shortly.
