Richard Kiely Fires A Warning To The Bellator Welterweight Division
Richard “The Face of BAMMA” Kiely has now declared himself “The Face of Bellator MMA.”
Earlier this week, the Irish welterweight revealed that he’d come out of retirement and that he had put pen to paper to sign with Bellator MMA. First reported by Petesy Carroll of MMAFighting.com.
Kiely was one of 22 new signees to be announced by the promotion earlier this week and the SBG Ireland man has wasted little time letting the other Bellator welterweights know he means business.
Speaking exclusively to Jim Edwards, Kiely made it clear that he’s not just got his eyes set on clearing up his previous domestic rivals, but more making an impact on the world title scene.
“F*** this domestic business Bellator are talking about, I would knock out Larkin, MVP and Daley,” Kiely said.
“Terrence is irrelevant now, he has no belts and I’ve eclipsed him just by moving organisations and the fact he’s trying to call me out now shows he knows it too.”
Whilst clearing up the division in the cage Kiely also believes he’d clean up the division on the catwalk… yes you read that correctly, the catwalk.
“On a side note, this has to be the ugliest division ever. It’s like a pack or Gargoyles that look like they should be hanging off the side of a church,” Kiely said.
“Daley is a prime example. He has a head like a gannet. Apart from being the most handsome in the division I’m 100% the best striker. MVP and Daley are one dimensional in different ways. They also both look they’ve been punched in the face for years.
“The fact I’m especially handsome should be indicative of how much of a better fighter I am.”
Bellator MMA are rumoured to be returning to Dublin, Ireland later this year, though no date has been announced by the organization.
