It’s all heating up on Twitter this morning and Darren Till is letting the world know what’s going down.

Over the past few days, sources close to MMANytt.com informed us that the UFC were attempting to put together a UFC welterweight title fight pitting the current champion Tyron Woodley vs Darren Till, but that’s not the full version of events.

Here’s how it went down:

  • The UFC is currently trying to book a main event for UFC 228 set for Dallas, Texas on Sept. 8.
  • The UFC approached Woodley and interim champion Colby Covington about a unification bout, but Covington rebutted the offer stating he wouldn’t be able to get ready in time given the fact he is waiting on a pending surgery.
  • The UFC then went to the man ranked #2 in the division, Till and offered the fight.
  • The Liverpudlian accepted the fight, but we are aware that Woodley turned the fight down wanting to wait for a fight guy with Covington despite originally stating a willingness to fight in Sept.

So where does that leave us? It leaves us with Till taking to Twitter for a rare 280 character call out of the current 170-pounds champion.

This is a developing situation, but for the minute at least, there’s no deal in place for Woodley to defend his title at UFC 228.
