Dana White Hands Out Contracts to Bevon Lewis and Jordan Espinosa on ‘Contender Series’
Bevon Lewis and Jordan Espinosa are the latest additions to the UFC following the newest installment of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.
Lewis was previously under a developmental deal with the UFC after he first made waves on the Contender Series a year ago where he earned a devastating knockout. Afterwards, White put him under the developmental deal to allow Lewis more time to get experience under his belt before bringing him to the UFC.
Lewis has now earned his spot after another spectacular knockout against Alton Cunningham on Tuesday night.
Lewis, who trains out of the Jackson-Winkeljohn Academy in New Mexico, was dominant from start to finish but ended the fight with a barrage of knees that absolutely swarmed Cunningham and left the referee no choice but to stop the contest.
Lewis now joins the UFC roster with a perfect 6-0 record.
Meanwhile, Espinosa also got his contract with the UFC after a second appearance on the Contender Series after picking up a win last year as well.
Espinosa engaged in a back and forth war with Riley Dutro that saw both fighters get dropped to the mat in the early part of the fight. Espinosa was able to battle back and earn a late stoppage in the third and final round with just two seconds remaining on the clock.
Espinosa will now join the UFC’s flyweight division where he hopes to one day challenge champion Demetrious Johnson.
