Dana White Finally Schedules Sit Down with Conor McGregor

If at first you don’t succeed…

Following several failed attempts at a meeting, UFC president Dana White says he has finally scheduled a sit down with former two-division champion Conor McGregor later this month.

McGregor is on his way to the United States for a court hearing that will take place in New York on Thursday after he was arrested back in April for assaulting a bus at the Barclays Center ahead of UFC 223.

McGregor faces three misdemeanor assault charges as well as one felony charge for criminal mischief after initiating the melee.

While it’s not likely McGregor’s case will be settled on Thursday, his return to the U.S. allows time for him to finally meet with White to begin talking about what comes next in his fight career.

“He and I are meeting on the 18th of this month,” White revealed when speaking to TMZ. “I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I don’t know what Conor has planned. I don’t know what Conor and his team have worked on.”

McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since Nov. 2016 when he became a two-division champion with a second round TKO against Eddie Alvarez to claim the lightweight title.

Since then, McGregor was focused on the birth of his first son and then his mega-fight against Floyd Mayweather that helped him become the fourth richest athlete in the world for 2018.

As for his court case, White can’t predict what will happen although most legal experts don’t see McGregor doing any jail time with him likely reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.

“Whatever happens tomorrow … I will be as shocked as you,” White said.
