KSW Boss Martin Lewandowski Keen On Forming A Talent Sharing Alliance With Bellator, BAMMA And RIZIN

KSW continue to go from strength-to-strength in Europe and co-founder Martin Lewandowski has some ideas of how the Polish outfit continue to expand.

Speaking in an interview with Forbes.pl, Lewandowski spoke about why the promotion will be returning to London on Oct. 6 for KSW 45 and how he’s recently be encouraging some of the other MMA promotions outside of the UFC to join forces and share some of their talent in a mutually beneficially way.

“For the last few years I’m encouraging Bellator and some other organisations, like BAMMA or Rizin to make an alliance, which would strengthen us all,” Lewandowski said.

“I’m interested in sharing some fighters with each other. Of course, I don’t mean the top stars, which every organisation wants to keep exclusively for themselves.

“I mean the less active fighters. We could also organise bouts between organisations.”

It’s not secret that Lewandowski is good friends with Bellator President Scott Coker and that the two are in frequent conversation with one another.

Whilst the idea of sharing talent is something Lewandowski is keen on, the KSW boss doesn’t think that a KSW vs Bellator event is as likely as some might have previously suggested.

“Our fighters against theirs? The idea of making combined event is really risky, because in case of a loss, one organisation’s image could suffer badly,” Lewandowski said.

“But it would be interesting for spectators. There are also some difficulties in regards to rewarding fighters, but it’s at least worth talking about.

“Even though we are competitors, we all have one goal – to popularise MMA.

“Anyway, me and Scott Coker know each other well. Both of us were recently nominated to World MMA Awards.

“However the reward will probably fairly go once again into the hands of Dana White, who recently made an impressive deal with ESPN.”
