Lando Vannata Faces Drakkar Klose At UFC 226
Another fight has been announced for the UFC 226 fight card on July 7 and it sees Lando Vannata taking on Drakkar Klose in lightweight action.
The fight was first reported by The Las Vegas Review Journal this evening.
Vannata (9-2-1) failed to record a victory in 2017 after losing to David Teymur at UFC 209 and then battling to a draw with Bobby Green at UFC 216 last October. The Jackson Winkeljohn fighter’s sole victory in the UFC came over John Makdessi back at UFC 206 in 2016 and he will be looking to get a second win under his belt when he enters the Octagon for the first time this year against Klose.
Klose (8-1-1) also has a loss to Teymur on his record and it occurred in his last fight back in Dec. at UFC 218. Prior to that loss, Klose had picked up victories over Devin Powell and Marc Diakiese earlier in 2017, but like Vannata he will be making his first UFC appearance in 2018 this July at International Fight Week.
UFC 226 will be headlined by UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic defending his title against the current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. The UFC featherweight title will also be on the line when Max Holloway takes on Brian Ortega.
The UFC 226 fight card currently looks as follows:
Stipe Miocic vs. Daniel Cormier
Max Holloway vs. Brian Ortega
Francis N’Gannou vs. Derrick Lewis
Anthony Pettis vs. Mike Chiesa
Raphael Assunção vs. Rob Font
Gökhan Saki vs. Khalil Rountree
Yancy Medeiros vs. Mike Perry
Paulo Costa vs. Uriah Hall
Emily Whitmire vs. Jamie Moyle
Max Griffin vs. Curtis Millender
Gilbert Burns vs. Daniel Hooker
