Oskar Piechota Faces Gerald Meerschaert At The TUF 27 Finale In Las Vegas
The July 6 The Ultimate Fighter Season 27 Finale fight card is quickly taking shape and we have a middleweight bout on deck.
Sources close to MMANytt.com have told us that former Cage Warriors middleweight champion Oskar Piechota will take on Gerald Meerschaert at at the Pearl Theatre of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
(EDIT: the bout was confirmed this morning by Polish outlet Sportowe Fakty)
Piechota (11-0-1) comes into the bout having won two bouts already under the UFC banner. Back in June 2017, Piechota defeated Jason Radcliffe to win the Cage Warriors 185-pounds title and was shortly after signed by the UFC. The Pole then made his UFC debut later that year in October when he beat Jonathan Wilson at UFC Fight Night 118 in Gdansk, Poland via a unanimous decision. He then went on to fight Tim Williams at UFC Fight Night 126 and won the bout via knockout in the first round. The Pole will now look to make it three wins in three fights under the UFC banner in July, but in his way will be an experienced veteran with three times as many fights under his belt.
Meerschaert (27-9) trains at Roufus Sports and is the former RFA middleweight champion. The American signed for the UFC in December 2016 and has since gone 3-1 in the organization with wins over Eric Spicely, Ryan Janes and Joe Gigliotti. His sole UFC loss came at the hands of Thiago Santos at UFC 213 last year during International Fight Week 2017.
