Ray Borg Forced Out of UFC Chile Card With Infant Son Undergoing Brain Surgeries
Ray Borg will no longer compete at UFC Fight Night in Chile.
The former title contender has been forced to drop out of his fight against Brandon Moreno after his infant son Anthony was forced into the hospital this past week for brain surgery after being diagnosed with a condition known as hydrocephalus.
Hydrocephalus is a buildup of fluid in the cavities deep inside the brain according to the Mayo Clinic. The excess fluid buildup results in increased pressure on the brain.
Borg has been providing updates on his son’s health throughout the week as he dealt with multiple surgeries to try and relieve the condition.
Unfortunately Anthony needs to go back into surgery. The shunt was placed in a spot of his brain that just doesn’t quite work for him. Due to the high possibility of failure of the shunt the doctor ordered to have him back in the operating room for replacement of the shunt. ?? pic.twitter.com/JgqYtJLoWD

Because of his son’s health and the close proximity to his fight in May, Borg was forced to drop out of his bout against Moreno as UFC officials are now seeking a replacement for the upcoming card in Chile.
This is the third time a bout between Borg and Moreno has been scrapped after an injury to the New Mexico native caused a slight delay when the matchup was originally scheduled for UFC Fight Night in Austin in February.
Borg returned to full health but then was involved in the melee at the Barclays Center ahead of UFC 223 when Conor McGregor went on a tirade and threw a dolly through a bus window, injuring several people. Unfortunately, Borg ended up with glass in his eye, which forced him to drop off the card just two days before the event.
Now this latest incident is completely understandable given the situation Borg and his family are dealing with right now as he continues to keep watch over his son while he’s dealing with this condition.
