Carlos Condit Following Fourth Straight Loss in the UFC: ‘Maybe My Time Has Passed’

Carlos Condit isn’t sure what the future holds for him after suffering a fourth straight loss in the UFC this past weekend in Glendale, Arizona.

The former interim champion released his first statement regarding his second round submission loss to Alex Oliveira on Monday and while he admits that he still loves fighting, he’s just not certain that he should be competing any longer.

Condit has suffered through the toughest stretch of his career in recent years while putting together just a 1-5 record overall since 2014. That’s why the veteran welterweight contender addressed the possibility that maybe it’s time for him to call it a career when he spoke about the fight for the first time via Instagram on Monday.

“I trained my ass off and I came to fight. This is what leaving it all out there looked like on Saturday. Much respect to my opponent and his team. Thank you for taking the fight on short notice. Congratulations and best of luck in the future,” Condit wrote.

“I don’t know what’s next guys. I still love this game, and most days I still feel that fire, I absolutely love what it do, but maybe my time has passed. I don’t know the answer. This is what I know, this is my passion. I will never stop training, and If that leads me back to the Octagon, you know I’ll try to make it bloody for you.”

Post choke out, where the fuck am I , WTF happened, feeling kinda warm and fuzzy , hope I didn't just piss my shorts on live TV , thousand yard stare. I've posted plenty of pictures looking like a Badass. Triumphant and powerful… But here's the flip side, crumpled and weak in defeat. Rough day at the office ? Fuck it though, I had fun. Throughout his career, Condit has been known for devastating finishes and a thrilling style whenever he steps into the Octagon.

Condit had previously considered retirement following a loss to Demian Maia in 2016 but he ultimately decided to return to action in late 2017 where he suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Neil Magny.

Now following this latest setback, Condit is once again contemplating his future in the sport but he’s not ready to make a decision one way or the other right now if he will fight again.
