BAMMA Champion Mike Shipman Signs For Bellator And Debuts In May
Bellator continue to sweep up some of the biggest talents in UK MMA and the latest to sign on the dotted line is BAMMA middleweight champion, Mike Shipman.
Shipman (11-1) confirmed then news on his Facebook page this evening and stated that he’d signed a multi-fight with the organization. Shipman also revealed that he would debut at the upcoming Bellator 200 fight card on May 25 in London.
The London Shootfighters man has is riding an 11 fight win streak having been defeated on his debut in 2013. Since then, Shipman has been on a tear and has beaten the likes of Craig White, Marcin Protsko and Yannick Bahati on the way to capturing the BAMMA middleweight title last year at BAMMA 31. Shipman has competed twice already under the Bellator banner picking up wins over Dominic Clark and Protsko at two previous Bellator events held in London.
Shipman will now join teammate Michael “Venom” Page and fellow Englishmen Linton Vassell, Aaron Chalmers and Ryan Scope on the fight card. Bellator 200 is yet to officially have a main event announced, but the middleweight title fight between Gegard Mousasi and Rafael Carvalho and Roy Nelson vs Mirko Cro Cop are both in contention.
