Cage Warriors 92: How And Why To Watch 'Super Saturday'

The London market has had no shortage of high quality MMA to feast on in March and it comes to a head this Saturday evening when Cage Warriors 92: ‘Super Saturday’ heads to the London, O2 Indigo.

Here are 5 reasons why you can’t possibly miss it…

#1 – Nathaniel Wood is rarely in a boring fight

Cage Warriors bantamweight champion Nathaniel Wood will look to defend his title for the second time on Saturday when he takes on Italian, Luca Iovine. The Londoner put on one of the fights of the year with Josh Reed in 2017 and his never take a step back style means he’s never afraid to get into a gun fight. One more win for Wood could mean a call up to the UFC and it’s going to be a fitting way to cap off what should be an incredible night of fights.

#2 – Time to crown a new ‘Champ-Champ’

It’s been a little while coming, but Karl Moore will get his shot at becoming the first Cage Warriors ‘Champ-Champ’ since Conor McGregor this weekend. Moore became the Cage Warriors light heavyweight champion back at Cage Warriors 81 when he defeated American Josh Clark. He was then meant to meet Cage Warriors heavyweight champion Mauro Cerilli last November, but the bout never went ahead due to an injury. Moore will now get his shot at heavyweight gold this weekend in what could be a ‘blink and you miss it’ showdown between hard hitting Europeans.

#3 – ‘The Thunder Cat’ near title contention

‘The Thunder Cat’ Craig White is on a roll and this weekend he gets the opportunity to put himself in the title talk at 170-pounds. White has faced some of the top tier talent on the European MMA scene and between his campaigns at welterweight and middleweight he’s faced some very recognisable names with the likes of Leon Edwards, Oskar Piechota and Matt Inman all on his record. This weekend he takes on Alex Montagnani who himself is riding an impressive winning streak. Will White get the job done? Or will The Thunder Cat come undone? It’s just another intriguing reason to watch Super Saturday.

#4 – Jack Shore to continue his path to the top

Jack Shore is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects on the Cage Warriors roster right now and this weekend he will be looking to take his record to 8-0. With an extensive amateur record that also saw him go 11-0 and win gold at the IMMAF European Championships, Shore has all the pedigree to go all the way, but this weekend he will face his stiffest test yet. Vaughn Lee, a veteran of the UFC, will be the measuring stick to see whether Shore is ready for a big step up in competition. Lee’s record doesn’t look incredible on paper, but anyone that’s been in the cage with him knows how talented he is. This is a big fight for both men on Saturday.

#5 – Cameron Else back in the mix

Super Saturday features two main cards, but even the prelims are going to be worth tuning in for. Cameron Else will look to continue his winning ways in 2018 when he faces Thomas Terdjman in a bout that is currently billed as ‘swing bout.’ This means this fight could happen at anytime before, during or after each of the main cards given how timings are going. Make sure you catch it if you can, Else is promising big things in 2018 and if he can finally string some big wins together who knows where his talent can take him.
