Francis Ngannou Calls Out Derrick Lewis As He Prepares to Return to Action
“The Predator” is on the hunt again.
Ferocious knockout artist Francis Ngannou is ready to book his next fight and he wants to silence Derrick Lewis, who has had plenty to say about him since losing to heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in January.
There’s certainly no love lost between Ngannou and Lewis, who have traded messages over social media and various interviews for more than a year already.
Following Lewis’ most recent win against Marcin Tybura, he once again asked for Ngannou as his next opponent and it appears the Cameroonian born behemoth was listening.
“Derrick [Lewis] has been talking some of his s–t while I was off,” Ngannou wrote on Twitter. “Can someone please let him know that I’m here now, so if he really wants me, he should send his manager to deal with UFC.”

Considering where both Ngannou and Lewis sit in the heavyweight rankings, this matchup makes more sense than just two fighters calling each other out.
Lewis has never held his tongue when it comes to his opinion on Ngannou or how he believes he’d do against him if they step into the Octagon together.
“I believe that I’m better than Francis all the way around,” Lewis said back in February. “Striking, grappling, ground game, submission, whatever. I believe I’ve got better conditioning than him. I’m better disciplined. I listen to my coaches. I really believe I could beat this guy.”
Considering Ngannou is looking to climb back up the ladder after his decisive loss to Miocic at UFC 220 and Lewis would love to secure his first shot at gold by getting past one the most feared fighters in the world, the fight seems like a no brainer.
By all accounts, Ngannou and Lewis have made the UFC matchmaker’s job very easy but now it’s just a matter of wait and see if this fight gets put together in the near future.
