Scott Askham Returns To ACB In Nottingham At ACB 87
2018 is lining up to be a massive year for Scott Askham and he’s going to be returning to action in May when he fights on ACB 87 against Ibragim Chuzhigaev.
Askham (16-4) is coming off the back of arguably the biggest win of his career after defeating Michael Materla at KSW 42. The Yorkshireman defeated Materla in Lodz, Poland earlier this month via first round knockout. Askham’s relentless kicks to the body had Materla on all fours within 60-seconds of the bout starting and a glancing shot to the head sealed the deal and gave the Englishman his first win under the KSW banner.
Askham will now return to fight in ACB for the second time in his career after winning his first bout in the organization against his fellow British rival Luke Barnatt in Sept. 2017.
Chuzhigaev (11-5) is currently riding a two fight win streak and has spent the majority of his career fighting in ACB after debuting in the promotion in 2014. The Russian is currently riding a two fight win streak with wins over Will Noland at ACB 70 and a win over former ONE Championship champion Igor Svirid at ACB 80 last month.
Chuzhigaev will be fighting on British soil for the fourth time in his career and is undefeated having beaten Lee Chadwick in Glasgow, David Mitchell in Manchester and Noland in Sheffield.
ACB 87 is set to take place on May 19 at the Motorpoint Arena.
Yesterday, ACB announced that the event will be headlined by Robert Whiteford taking on Kane Mousah in a featherweight bout.
