UFC 223 Line Up Set With Two Title Fights, Herrig vs. Kowalkiewicz Headlining the Prelims

The line up for UFC 223 has now been set with two title fights headlining the upcoming card on April 7 from Brooklyn, New York.

The lightweight championship fight will serve as the main event as Tony Ferguson takes on Khabib Nurmagomedov in a highly anticipated showdown to crown a new king at 155 pounds. This is the fourth time these two fighters have been matched up but all signs are pointing towards the bout finally taking place on April 7.

In the co-main event, Rose Namajunas will defend her UFC women’s strawweight title for the first time when she faces former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk in a rematch from their first fight this past November.

The rest of the main card will feature a featherweight showdown between Renato Moicano and Calvin Kattar while Michael Chiesa takes on former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis. A guaranteed barnburner between Al Iaquinta and Paul Felder will kick off the UFC 223 main card on pay-per-view.

As for the prelims, a battle between top 10 strawweights will headline the FS1 portion of the show as Karolina Kowalkiewicz takes on Felice Herrig in a bout that could put the winner just inches away from a potential title shot.

UFC veteran and multi-time bonus winner Joe Lauzon will headline the UFC Fight Pass broadcast as he takes on former “Ultimate Fighter” competitor Chris Gruetzemacher.
