Remember That Time When A Lot Of Us Didn’t Understand What Yoel Romero Said…..
Yoel Romero fights Luke Rockhold at UFC 221 this evening, but do you remember the time he beat Lyoto Machida at UFC Fight Night 70?
Here’s a little reminder of what happened in Romero’s post-fight interview after defeating the Brazilian via third round TKO.
NO-PHO-GEH JESUS

Well, on the night, not everyone watching totally understood Romero’s message of ‘no forget Jesus.’ To say a few people misunderstood the Cuban’s post-fight message would be an understatement to say the least.
Romero wins via 3rd round TKO. Brutal GNP via elbows.

And that’s where it all began ….
Where can I ship one of these to Yoel? pic.twitter.com/gDUEA4XYnO

Wait……no Romero… Just no. He's gonna get a PR visit now ??
— Kevin MTP Lee (@MoTownPhenom) June 28, 2015
Idk maybe I'm tripping but sounds like Yoel was about to go at the USA for making Gay Marriage legal. Am I tripping?
— Kevin MTP Lee (@MoTownPhenom) June 28, 2015
Why Romero why.
— Scott jorgensen (@Scottjorgensen) June 28, 2015
I'm pretty sure he just yelled a bunch of homophobic stuff but it was so hard to understand that no one is sure if they're offended or not.

Hahaha shoutout Jon Anik for holding it together and tryna get the interview back on track like pic.twitter.com/QpR0zNNCRi

"No gay Jesus USA" – Yoel Romero #UFCFlorida #yoelsays
— Chris Kelades (@keladesmma) June 28, 2015
All I understood was "wake up America" from Yoel Romero.

I am going to Church tomorrow now. #yoelsays

Did Romero say Go for Jesus not Gay Jesus? I didn't know there was a Gay Jesus. Either way I think he should give Gay Jesus a chance.
— Nick Newell (@NotoriousNewell) June 28, 2015
Well I thought I was bad at doing post fight interview ! #gayJesusPeople #stool
— Olivier Aubin (@oliaubin) June 28, 2015
I thought Yoel said "Get back to Jesus" not anything about "gays"…. Am I wrong? Was hard to understand

Yoel Romero goes from top contender, to ignorate PR nightmare in the same night. #UFCHollywood https://t.co/TGfPDn71to

Definitely could've been an accent issue #UFCHollywood

@DavyWhite @BloodyElbow "What happened to you?! Wake up USA! Go back. Go! Go for Jesus, no for gay Jesus!"
— Karim Zidan (@ZidanSports) June 28, 2015
Just re watched Romeros post fight rant several times and can't tell if he says "no for gay Jesus" or "no forget Jesus"… #UFCFlorida
— Scroobius Pip (@Scroobiuspipyo) June 28, 2015
Even I was guilty of not understanding him…
It’s quite possible Romero just got himself $50k and a large chunk of his performance fee. I hope that little jibe was worth it #UFCFlorida

Romero fights Rockhold this evening in the main event of UFC 221. Who knows, we could get another post-fight speech to remember.
