James Gallagher Returns In April: ‘The Kid Is F***ed, It’s The Jimmy Show’
Strabane’s finest mixed martial artist James Gallagher will return to the Bellator cage on April 6 when he takes on fellow hot prospect Adam Borics in Hungary.
The news was announced this evening by Brett Okamoto of ESPN, who revealed that Gallagher vs Borics will serve as the main event of Bellator 196 taking place in Budapest.
Gallagher, just 21-years-old with a perfect record of 7-0, has recently recovered from a knee injury that kept him out of the main event at Bellator 187 last November. Prior to that he defeated Chinzo Machida at Bellator’s first ever event at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The SBG Ireland man will now face Borics who is also undefeated with a record of 6-0.
Besides both being considered as one of the hottest young talents competing in Bellator’s 145-pounds division, both Gallagher and Borics share the fact that they both hold submission victories over flamboyant American, Anthony “Pretty boy” Taylor.
Gallagher reacted to the news this evening in typical style on his Instagram: “The kid is f***ed, it’s the Jimmy Show” he wrote in the caption.
Bellator are yet to name any other bouts for Bellator 194, but this will be an intriguing matchup to say the least with other young talents such as Aaron Pico and AJ McKee also fighting their way up through the Bellator featherweight ranks.
