Miesha Tate Open to Appearing in WWE But Unsure About Working with Ronda Rousey

Miesha Tate likes the idea of making an appearance in WWE but working with her longtime rival Ronda Rousey is a different story

For all the made up drama that surrounds so much trash talk in combat sports, the rivalry between former women’s champions Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey was all too real.

Tate and Rousey first began their war of words when they were both competing in Strikeforce before finally meeting in their first fight back in 2012.

The bitter rivals then ended up coaching against each other on “The Ultimate Fighter” in what had to be one of the tensest seasons ever recorded on that reality show with Tate and Rousey always appearing within inches of attacking each other.

Years later, Tate has called it a career after retiring from the UFC in 2016 and now she’s excited to become a first time parent with a baby on the way later this year. Meanwhile, Rousey has seemingly stopped fighting after signing a new multi-year agreement to become part of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) roster.

Tate has said in the past that she would love the chance to crossover into the world of professional wrestling but with Rousey there now it could be a whole new angle to explore for WWE as reality blends with fiction.

“I’ve always said I would be down to do a cameo with WWE so I personally wouldn’t want to do a two or three year world tour cause I know there’s so much that goes into that and especially now with a baby on the way and I don’t want to take that time away from my family. So I would be open to a cameo possibly but with Ronda specifically? That changes things a little bit,” Tate said on her Sirius XM show recently. “It depends on how much we’d have to work together on the choreography before the cameo.”

Rousey is just now getting her feet wet in WWE after signing a long term deal with the promotion but she hasn’t even made her actual in ring debut yet as she finishes up filming on the movie “Mile 22” before she resumes her wrestling career.

Rousey has been training to transition into professional wrestling for the past year so she could be ready to make an impact in WWE on her first day in the promotion.

WWE has notoriously allowed real life drama to bleed over into the production so if the promotion is looking for a rival that would get under Rousey’s skin, they wouldn’t have to search far to find Tate as the person sitting atop that list.

Still, Tate admits it would take an awful lot for her to work with Rousey if she ever did transition into WWE because even if the match as choreographed, she’s not sure she could be around her longtime rival without the bad blood boiling over yet again.

“If the money’s right, maybe,” Tate said about working with Rousey. “That’s one thing I’ve always had in my favor is that I’ve always been able to be the bigger person, like get over it. I’m never going to like Ronda but I don’t hate her. I don’t have to be unprofessional. I could sit in the same room with her. I could put it aside, I can be professional so I know I could get the job done, but I wouldn’t want to have to hang out with Ronda and work on choreography and act like we don’t like each other cause that’s not the case.

“That would be like “The Ultimate Fighter” all over again but worse I think.”
