Two Bouts Confirmed For UFC 224 In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil On May 12
The UFC announced two bouts for the upcoming UFC 224 pay-per-view event set to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 12.
Davi Ramos vs Nick Hein
The first bout confirmed was a lightweight bout pitting Nick Hein (14-2-1) against Brazilian fighter, Davi Ramos (7-2).
Hein was last in action back in Sept. 2016 when he took on Tae Hyun Bang in Hamburg, Germany. The man from Cologne won the bout via unanimous decision and in doing so picked up his third win on the bounce having previously defeated ?ukasz Sajewski and Yusuke Kasuya. Hein was then booked to face Zabit Magomedsharipov in Rotterdam in Sept. 2017, but picked up an injury and was forced to pull out of the bout. The German will now return in May to take on a Brazilian competing in his third UFC bout.
Ramos last competed back at UFC Fight Night 123 when he defeated Chris Gruetzemacher via submission. Prior to that bout Ramos has lost his UFC debut against Sérgio Moraes in March 2017.
Alberto Mina vs Ramazon Emeev
The second bout announced was a light heavyweight between Alberto Mina (13-0) and Ramazon Emeev (16-3)
Mina is unbeaten since making his professional debut in 2005 and has won three fights under the UFC banner. The Brazilian’s made his UFC bow back in Aug. 2014 when he defeated Japanese fighter, Shinsho Anzai. Mina then went on to beat Yoshihiro Akiyama and then Mike Pyle, but hasn’t competed since July 2017.
Emeev made his UFC debut back at UFC Fight Night 118 which took place in Gdansk, Poland last October. The Russian defeated Sam Alvey via unanimous decision in what was a clear cut victory for the former M-1 champion.
