Conor McGregor Reacts to Ronda Rousey Joining WWE in Full Time Role

Conor McGregor offers his support to Ronda Rousey now that she's left the UFC and started working with WWE full time

Ronda Rousey exiting the UFC to begin a new full time career as a performer in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has been all the buzz since her arrival there this past Sunday night.

Rousey still hasn’t officially retired from fighting but by all accounts she has no intention of returning after inking a multi-year deal with WWE just recently.

While Rousey’s arrival in WWE has received mixed reactions from some of the talent on the professional wrestling roster, the UFC’s biggest star seems to be very happy to see her doing something she loves so much.

“I’m delighted for her,” Conor McGregor said in an interview ahead of a gala in New York where he was honored for his charitable contributions. “Absolutely over the moon for her. She looked like she really enjoyed herself at the event and I was very, very happy to see her. She’s a pioneer for the game and she’s came through it all and faced big wins and big, big losses and she came through it. It’s great to see her represent herself and mixed martial arts and have fun in WWE.

“I know she’s been a big fan of it all her life so it’s great to see that.”

While McGregor and Rousey were often competing for the title of biggest draw in the UFC, they always seemed to support each other outside the cage in whatever endeavors were happening.

McGregor showed his support for Rousey after her two devastating losses in the UFC that likely ended her career and he seems genuinely happy to see her move onto WWE now that fighting is all but finished.

Of course, McGregor has long teased a possible appearance in WWE as well after engaging in a war of words with several athletes on their roster back in 2016.

Right now, WWE will focus on getting Rousey ready for her in ring debut later this year while McGregor is still attempting to settle negotiations with the UFC so he can resume his fighting career in 2018.
