Floyd Mayweather Flaunts $100 Million Guaranteed Check for Fighting Conor McGregor (PHOTO)
In case you didn’t know, Floyd Mayweather is worth a lot of money.
On the off chance that anybody forgot, Mayweather is happy to tout his fortune as he did in a social media post on Friday where he flaunted the $100 million guaranteed check he received for his fight against Conor McGregor this past August in Las Vegas.
While Mayweather ultimately earned far more than $100 million for his part in the second biggest pay-per-view broadcast of all time, that check represents what he was guaranteed to make win, lose or draw and now matter how well the fight sold to fans.
“Some say there’s a difference between being smart and intelligent. Everyone knows that common sense isn’t so common, but when it comes to being wise beyond years it’s proven I’ve got the Midas touch,” Mayweather wrote with the photo attached to show off his check.
“It’s simple math, being 50-0 lets you know I READ my opponents just as clear as you can READ this $100,000,000 check. I stay getting checks like this, I will always have the last laugh!”
Mayweather reportedly earned somewhere between $250 to $300 million for his final payout for the fight with McGregor once sales from pay-per-view, merchandising and other steams of revenue were gathered up after the event.
As for McGregor, he was rumored to make around $100 million for his part in the fight including those same pay-per-view sales and various revenue streams as he received a smaller percentage of the overall purse than Mayweather.
Still it appears both fighters will walk away with at least nine-figures added to their bank accounts so it’s not a bad night’s work for Mayweather or McGregor.
