Francis Ngannou Says He’s Making $500,000 For UFC 220 Main Event Against Stipe Miocic
Top ranked heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou will reportedly cash in a huge payday for his upcoming fight against Stipe Miocic at UFC 220.
According to Ngannou in a new interview with French outlet SFR Sport, the heavy-handed knockout artist says he’s being paid $500,000 for his championship bout against Miocic this Saturday night from Boston.
There’s no telling how much of a raise Ngannou received to compete for the heavyweight title because strangely he’s only competed in a state with a commission that reports fighter salaries once during his UFC career and that was his debut (where he made $20,000).
Still it’s tough to imagine that Ngannou didn’t enjoy a hefty increase from his most recent fight where he took out Alistair Overeem at UFC 218, which earned him the title shot just over a month later.
Ngannou’s story truly is going from rags to riches considering it was just a few years ago when the 6-foot-4-inch monster was homeless and living on the streets of Paris, France. Now he’ll cash in a half-a-million payday for his first shot at UFC gold this weekend as he challenges Miocic in the main event in Boston.
