Felice Herrig vs Karolina Kowalkiewicz In The Works For UFC 223
UFC 223 will take place in Brooklyn on April 7 and the fight card appears to be taking shape.
Sources close to MMANytt have revealed a strawweight bout between Felice Herrig (14-6) and Karolina Kowalkiewicz (11-2) is in the works for the card.
Herrig is on the one of the best runs of her career with wins over Kailin Curran, Alexa Grasso, Justine Kish and Courtney Case. She’s currently ranked #9 in the UFC’s strawweight division and confirmed backstage at UFC fight Night 124 last evening that she’d signed a bout agreement for a fight.
Kowalkiewicz is currently ranked #4 in the division and will have her eyes on getting herself in contention for a shot at Rose Namajunas, who she previously defeated in June 2016. The Pole bounced back from the first two losses of her career to Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha with win over Jodie Esquibel at UFC Fight Night Gdansk last October.
No fights have been officially announced for the show at the Barclays Centre, but last evening Flocombat reported that Al Iaquinta vs Paul Felder had been rebooked after the bout had previously been scheduled to take place at UFC 218.
