UFC Champ Amanda Nunes Joins Invicta FC Athlete Development Team
UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes has joined Invicta Fighting Championships as part of their athlete development team with her role kicking off with this weekend’s event in Kansas City, MO.
In her new role, Nunes will assist in the matchmaking process for fighters on the Invicta FC roster while also cultivating and discovering new talent for the organization with a focus on Brazil and the southeastern United States.
Nunes actually competed in Invicta FC for two fights before she made her UFC debut back in 2013 before rising up the ranks and eventually becoming champion in 2016.
“I’ve been very fortunate throughout my career to fight for the best organizations in the world,” Nunes said in a statement. “In my new position, I hope to be able to use my experience as a fighter and a champion to help groom the next generation. I’m honored to be a part of their journey at Invicta.”
Nunes will waste no time kicking off her new role with Invicta as she will be front and center for the weigh-ins on Friday for the upcoming card taking place on Saturday night with the event airing live on UFC Fight Pass.
