Mackenzie Dern Gets Opponent for Her Octagon Debut at UFC 222

Top rated prospect Mackenzie Dern is coming to the UFC.

Following a single fight in Invicta FC in Dec. that moved her record to a perfect 5-0, Dern is set to make her Octagon debut against Ashley Yoder at UFC 222 in Las Vegas on Mar. 3.

Sources close to the matchup confirmed the news on Monday following an initial report from MMAFighting.

Dern is considered one of the top talents coming up in the women’s strawweight division with a pedigree in Brazilian jiu-jitsu including numerous titles in grappling competitions all around the globe.

In addition to her dazzling ground game, Dern has worked extensively with the coaches and fighters at the MMA Lab to round out her skill set as she prepares to make her move to the UFC this year.

As for Yoder (5-3), she will look to get her first UFC win while facing Dern in Mar. as the former “Ultimate Fighter” competitor attempts to bounce back from back-to-back losses after joining the promotion in 2016.

Dern vs. Yoder is the latest matchup added to the growing UFC 222 card set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with a main event still to be determined.
