Conor McGregor Promises to Come Back ‘Sharper’ and ‘Faster’ in 2018
Conor McGregor is ready for 2018.
Late Sunday night, McGregor sent out a message on social media for New Year’s Eve but unfortunately the reigning UFC champion was dealing with some sickness rather than celebration.
Despite fighting through some illness, McGregor was still able to say what he was most thankful for in 2017, which of course was the birth of his first child — Conor McGregor Jr.
McGregor also put out a rather ominous message about what to expect in 2018 as it appears he believes everybody is already writing him off yet he’s just about to start a new chapter in his career.
“2018 I may go back to the back pages instead of the front pages again but I have a feeling these journalists now just want me in the obituary pages so we shall see,” McGregor wrote. “I will be ready for whatever comes.
“Be sharp and be fast this year because I am sharper and I am faster.”
McGregor took the majority of the second half of 2017 off after his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather in August while teasing his eventual return to the UFC Octagon in 2018.
Just recently, UFC president Dana White said that he hopes to have McGregor back by summer but as of now there’s still no word when the 29-year old Irishman will be ready to get back to business.
For now, McGregor is just going to celebrate the start of the new year as he looks forward to whatever 2018 brings to him.
