Angela Magana Announces She’s Been Released from the UFC
Following a TKO loss at UFC 218, Angela Magana announced on Thursday that she has been released from her contract with the UFC.
I immediately asked for a rematch with #ufc and they have released me after dropping 3 losses in a row. I'm thankful for the opportunities afforded to me through my journey with @ufc and am currently headed to the gym to train for my next win. #yourmajesty

Magana first appeared in the UFC by way of “The Ultimate Fighter” season 20 when she was part of the cast that helped determine the first ever women’s strawweight champion.
On the show, Magana lost by TKO in her opening round matchup to Aisling Daly before she was given a shot to perform at the live finale where she also dropped a fight to former housemate Tecia Torres by unanimous decision.
Magana then fell to Michelle Waterson by rear naked choke before finally being finished by Amanda Cooper this past weekend in Detroit to mark her third UFC loss in a row.
Unfortunately for Magana, she was in the spotlight as much for her activities outside the Octagon as anything she did inside the cage as she was often embroiled in social media battles and even got involved in an altercation with women’s featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino at the UFC Fighter’s Retreat over comments she made online.
Based on Magana’s comments regarding her release, she plans on getting back into training soon to hopefully book her next fight in the near future as she begins her career outside the UFC.
