MMA Community Reacts To Nicco Montano Winning UFC Gold
The UFC crowned their newest champion last evening with Nicco Montano taking home the UFC’s women’s flyweight title in Las Vegas.
Montano defeated Roxanne Modafferi via a unanimous decision after a gruelling 25-minute back and forth war where both women had their bright spots. Modafferi, who took the fight on just 24-hours notice, started well, but as the rounds added up, Montano started to figure out her awkward striking style and she control of the fight.
After escaping a dangerous armbar just 30-seconds from end of the fifth round, Montano was declared the winner on the scorecards. UFC President Dana White was on hand to strap he belt around her waist and here’s what the MMA community had to say about the newest UFC champion:
