Cris Cyborg vs. Holly Holm Official As Main Event at UFC 219
After weeks of speculation the women’s featherweight title fight between Cris “Cyborg” Justino and Holly Holm has officially been named the main event for UFC 219 in Las Vegas on Dec. 30.
UFC officials announced the news on Tuesday.
UFC 219: Cyborg vs. Holm will see tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Dec. 1 with prices ranging from $50 up to $500.
The event will serve as the first title defense for Cyborg, who won the UFC women’s featherweight championship back in July with a TKO against former Invicta FC champion Tonya Evinger. Cyborg will put her belt on the line against former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm in the headline fight for the UFC’s year end card.
Also announced on Tuesday, the lightweight matchup between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Edson Barboza will serve as the co-main event on the card with the winner undoubtedly moving one step closer to title contention at 155 pounds.
Here’s the current card for UFC 219: Cyborg vs. Holm. More fights are expected to be added with the official bout order to be determined at a later date.
