Four Fights Made Official For UFC 220 In Boston
UFC 220 will take place on Jan. 20 in Boston and four fights have been added to the card.
The main event is yet to be announced, but four undercard fights appeared on UFC.com last evening as the TD Garden prepares to host it’s first UFC fight card since Jan. 2015.
Russian Islam Makhachev (14-1) will be looking to make it three wins in three when he takes on Brazilian veteran Gleison Tibau (41-11). Makhachev has won back-to-to-back fights over Chris Wade and Nik Lentz and will be knocking on the door of a spot in the top-15 with a third straight win.
Tibau, however, will be looking to save his spot on the UFC roster and is currently riding a two fight losing streak with losses to Abel Trujillo and Tony Ferguson in his last two UFC outings.
In top-15 flyweight action, #10 ranked Dustin Ortiz will take on the #12 ranked, Alexandre Pantoja. Ortiz (17-7) is coming off a win against Hector Sandoval while Pantoja (18-2) comes into the bout off back-to-back wins against Neil Seery and Eric Shelton.
The two other bouts added to the card see featherweight matchups between Calvin Kattar (17-2) and Shane Burgos (10-0), and Kyle Bochniak (7-2) taking on Brandon Davis (8-2).
